Love & Nudes, a brand built on making Black women feel seen when it comes to being represented in nude lingerie wanted to do more for the Black community. We discovered a stark fact that Black women have a 40% higher death rate from breast cancer than white women. Additionally, Black women are under-screened and the signs and symptoms of breast cancer are white washed. Now breast cancer and bras go hand in hand and that’s where Love & Nudes decided to play its part. We helped the brand create The Stage Zero Collection, breast cancer screening bras made for Black women. But knowing the signs is only the first step to saving lives. Black women present signs as early as 40, but the breast cancer screening age in Canada is 50. Using Change.org we hope to collect the support of the community to take this all the way to the government to lower the screening age.
